Biyografi

Ousmane Oumar Kane received a Ph.D in Political Sciences and Middle Eastern Studies from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, France. He currently serves as the first Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Professor of Contemporary Islamic Religion and Society at Harvard Divinity School and Professor of African and African American Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Harvard University. Prior to joining Harvard, he was associate Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. He is the author of Muslim Modernity in Postcolonial Nigeria (Brill, 2003), The Homeland Is the Arena: Religion, Transnationalism and the Integration of Senegalese Immigrants in America (Oxford University Press, 2011), Beyond Timbuktu: An Intellectual History of Muslim West Africa (Harvard University Press, 2016, and Islamic Scholarship in Africa. New Directions and Global Contexts (London: James Currey, 2021)

Ousmane Oumar Kane, Fransa'daki Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris'ten Siyaset Bilimi ve Orta Doğu Çalışmaları alanında doktora derecesi almıştır. Halen Harvard Divinirty School’da ve Harvard Sanat ve Bilim Fakültesinde Afrika ve Afrika Amerika Çalışmaları bölümlerinde profesör olarak görev almaktadır. Harvard'dan önce Columbia Üniversitesi'nde Uluslararası İlişkiler ve Kamu İlişkileri alanında doçent olarak görev yapmıştır.
